Feelings Friends
Your child hears a feeling word, such as sad or surprised, and taps the face that shows it. Each face has its word written underneath. Older children also hear short stories, like a balloon floating away, and choose how that would feel. There are five rounds, and a missed round simply moves on to the next one.

How the levels grow

Every session has five rounds, with six feelings to draw from: happy, sad, angry, scared, surprised and sleepy. The number of faces to choose from grows: three at levels 1 and 2, four at levels 3 and 4, and five at level 5. For ages 2–4, every round names a feeling to find. For ages 4–6, from level 2 the second and fourth rounds are short stories instead, and your child chooses how the character feels. Within a session, no story is repeated and the face rounds do not ask for the same feeling twice.
Ages 2–4 play on the Pre-Nursery path and ages 4–6 on the Kindergarten path. Good play climbs a level; a hard day holds it, and a level earned is never taken away.
What you might notice
- Does your child copy the face, or make a sound to match, like a yawn for sleepy?
- In the story rounds, can they say why the character might feel that way?
- Which feelings do they name quickly, and which do they pause over?
Try it at home
Take turns making a feeling face across the table or in a mirror, and guess each other's feeling. Then tell a tiny made-up story about a toy, such as teddy's tower falling down, and ask how teddy feels and what might help.
Not in this game: The game names feelings but does not practise calming down or talking through your child's own feelings.
