Memory Match

Your child taps two face-down cards to reveal their pictures. Matching pictures stay found; different pictures turn face down again after a short look. Your child can use what they saw on earlier turns to choose another pair. The game finishes when every pair has been found.

Every game is free for every family until 20 November 2026. No card, no payment.

What it practises

  • Recall the locations of previously revealed pictures
  • Match two identical picture cards

How the levels grow

  1. Seed Level 1
  2. Sprout Level 2
  3. Bloom Level 3
  4. Flourish Level 4
  5. Shine Level 5

For ages 2–4, the five levels contain two, three, four, five and six pairs. Ages 4–6 use four, six, eight, nine and ten pairs. Each picture appears twice in a shuffled layout. The animal-picture bank stays the same for both bands and all levels. The action also stays the same: reveal two cards, keep a matching pair, or remember the locations when different pictures turn back over. Higher levels increase the number of locations to consider.

Ages 2–4 play on the Pre-Nursery path and ages 4–6 on the Kindergarten path. Good play climbs a level; a hard day holds it, and a level earned is never taken away.

What you might notice

  • Does your child return to a picture they saw earlier?
  • Do they pause to look at both revealed cards?

Try it at home

Draw a large cat and dog twice each on folded scrap paper, with pictures hidden when folded. Stay beside younger children and use large whole sheets. Open two together, name what you see, then fold them again if they differ. Another look is always welcome.

Not in this game: The game does not practise remembering spoken instructions or a sequence of actions.
