Sight Words

Your child hears a target word and looks for it among printed choices. In later rounds, the word can appear inside a short sentence instead of on a separate card. They tap the word itself. The spoken prompt gives support while your child looks closely at the writing.

How the levels grow

Seed Level 1

For ages 4–6, level 1 draws from a first group including I, my and the, with two word cards. Level 2 adds another group and uses three cards. Level 3 expands the pool again and uses four cards. Each new level keeps earlier groups available. Levels 4 and 5 add further words and alternate card rounds with sentence searches. In those searches, the child finds a named word in the displayed sentence.

This game is on the Kindergarten path, for ages 4–6. Good play climbs a level; a hard day holds it, and a level earned is never taken away.

What you might notice

Does your child point to the whole target word?
Can they find it when it sits among other words?

Try it at home

Write a short familiar phrase such as my cup. Read it together, pointing to each word. Ask your child to find my, then use it in another short phrase. Supply unfamiliar words yourself and keep the amount of print small.
