Reading Sentences
Goal: Read short sentences and simple books aloud, and say what they mean.
For parents: Let your child read to you every day, even just a page. When they get stuck, ask them to sound it out before you help.

You need: Paper, crayonsWrite a sentence: 'The big red bus is on the hill.' Your child reads it and draws the picture. Did they get every detail?

You need: Sentence cardsWrite silly and true sentences: 'A cat can fly.' 'The sun is hot.' Read each and say yes or no.

Home-made book
You need: Paper folded and stapledMake a book about your family with one sentence per page: 'This is Dad. Dad can cook.' Your child reads it to visitors.
