Counting Stars
A group of stars, fruit or other familiar pictures appears on screen. Your child counts the pictures and taps a number below them. The spoken question names what to count. Each round shows one kind of picture, so you can focus together on how many are there.
Every game is free for every family until 20 November 2026. No card, no payment.
What it practises
- Count the pictures in a visible group
- Match a counted quantity to a written numeral
How the levels grow
- Seed Level 1
- Sprout Level 2
- Bloom Level 3
- Flourish Level 4
- Shine Level 5
Ages 2–4 can meet groups up to three, four, five, six and seven across levels 1–5. They choose between three numerals throughout. Ages 4–6 have higher maximum group sizes: six, eight, ten, twelve and fourteen. Their first two levels offer three numeral choices; levels 3–5 offer four. Each target is drawn from one up to that level's maximum, so later rounds can still show a small group. Every session has five rounds.
Ages 2–4 play on the Pre-Nursery path and ages 4–6 on the Kindergarten path. Good play climbs a level; a hard day holds it, and a level earned is never taken away.
What you might notice
- Does your child count each picture once?
- Do they connect their last count word with a numeral?
Try it at home
Place up to three whole socks on a clear surface. Move each sock aside as you count together. Write the total on paper and read it aloud. For an older child, add another sock and count again, keeping the set small enough to inspect.
Not in this game: The game does not practise writing numerals or counting objects by touch.
