Number Harbor

Number Harbor practises connecting amounts with numbers. Your child counts pictures, matches numerals to groups, completes number trains and fills ten-frames, which have two rows of five boxes. Older-band games include finding missing parts, adding and taking away, paying pretend prices, and sharing fruit into equal baskets. The games offer different ways to inspect amounts, from counting each picture to checking how parts fit a total.

Where to start

For ages 2–4, start with Counting Stars, then try Number Match to place numerals with groups. For ages 4–6, begin with Ten-Frame Fill's pictured amounts, then Make the Number for missing parts. Share and Group offers equal sets, while Pay and Change offers pretend shop amounts.

Every game starts at Seed, level 1, and climbs to Shine. Good play climbs a level; a hard day holds it, and a level earned is never taken away.

Try it at home

Draw two large plates on paper and place four whole socks beside them. Count the socks together, then share them between the plates one at a time. Compare the amounts and gather them to count again. Stay beside younger children and accept pointing or watching.
