Make the Number
Your child sees a target total and a smaller visible amount, or a choice of number pairs. They work out which answer makes the total. Some rounds frame the missing part as hidden pictures or a short arrival story. Pictures and number sentences show how the question fits together.
Every game is free for every family until 20 November 2026. No card, no payment.
What it practises
- Find a missing part of a given total
- Choose two numbers that make a target
- Work out an amount added in a short story
How the levels grow
- Seed Level 1
- Sprout Level 2
- Bloom Level 3
- Flourish Level 4
- Shine Level 5
For ages 4–6, level 1 uses totals of three, four or five with more-needed and hidden-part questions. Levels 2–3 add pair choices and widen totals through ten. Levels 4–5 add short stories and four answer choices instead of three. Level 5 pair questions can reach twenty. Picture-based questions stay at ten or below, and story totals stay at twelve or below. Hidden rounds show question-mark spaces, while some more-needed rounds show empty outlines.
This game is on the Kindergarten path, for ages 4–6. Good play climbs a level; a hard day holds it, and a level earned is never taken away.
What you might notice
- Does your child keep the target total in mind?
- Do they count visible spaces or reason from the two amounts?
Try it at home
Draw five large circles and shade two. Say that five is the whole group, then ask how many are still unshaded. Count together to check. For another turn, shade a different number and notice that the total can stay the same.
Not in this game: The game does not practise negative numbers or written calculation methods.
