One, Two, Three
Goal: Say the numbers to five in order and count up to three objects by touching each one.
For parents: Saying the numbers and really counting are two different skills. Counting means one number for each object — touch each one as you say it.

You need: Stairs or stepsCount out loud on every step, going up and coming down. Start with three steps and add more as they get it.

Snack counting
You need: A snack cut into small, safe piecesPut out three pieces. Count them together, touching each one. Eat one — how many now? Always cut grapes and round foods into quarters for toddlers.

Finger rhymes
You need: Your hands'Five Little Ducks' or 'One, Two, Buckle My Shoe' — hold up the right number of fingers as you sing, and let them copy.
