Story Steps
Mixed picture cards show the steps of a small event or routine. Your child drags them into numbered spaces, starting with what happens first. Each card has a short written label that is spoken when picked up. You can discuss why one action belongs before another.
Every game is free for every family until 20 November 2026. No card, no payment.
What it practises
- Arrange pictured events in their given sequence
- Connect first, next and last with story positions
How the levels grow
- Seed Level 1
- Sprout Level 2
- Bloom Level 3
- Flourish Level 4
- Shine Level 5
Story Steps is available for ages 4–6. Level 1 uses the first three cards from a chosen story, while levels 2–5 use all four. Levels 1–2 contain two story rounds; levels 3–5 contain three. All levels draw from the same bank, including a sandwich, painting and tidying. Later levels do not add a separate bank of longer stories. Cards are shuffled before placement, and the numbered spaces keep the sequence visible.
This game is on the Kindergarten path, for ages 4–6. Good play climbs a level; a hard day holds it, and a level earned is never taken away.
What you might notice
- Does your child describe what happens before placing a card?
- Can they explain why the next step follows?
Try it at home
Draw three moments of a pretend tidy-up: toys out, toys going into a box, and a clear floor. Point through them together and tell the sequence. Your child can supply gestures or words while you add first, next and last.
Not in this game: The game does not practise composing an original story or allow alternative event orders.
