Sort It Out

Two baskets show the categories for the round. Your child looks at each loose picture and drags it to a basket. Once the pictures are sorted, later levels ask which basket has more. The spoken instruction names the groups, so check the current sorting rule together before starting.

How the levels grow

Ages 2–4 use big/small, round/boxy or legs/wheels groups. Their levels 1–3 give two, two and three items per basket. Levels 4–5 use unequal sets of three and two, then four and two, with a more-than question. Ages 4–6 have a wider category bank, including animals/food and vehicles/clothes. Their first three levels give two, three and four per basket; levels 4–5 use five and three, then six and four. Every level has two sorting rounds.

Ages 2–4 play on the Pre-Nursery path and ages 4–6 on the Kindergarten path. Good play climbs a level; a hard day holds it, and a level earned is never taken away.

What you might notice

Does your child use the named rule for both baskets?
After sorting, do they compare the groups by counting?

Try it at home

Lay whole socks and spoons on a low surface. Name two groups and sort them together. Use only a few items, staying beside younger children. Count each set afterwards, or simply point out which group has more if that conversation is welcome.
