Pattern Parade
A row of pictures ends with a question mark. Your child looks for the part that repeats and chooses the next picture from the buttons below. Some rows alternate two items; others repeat pairs or a group of three. Saying the pictures aloud together can make the repeating group easier to discuss.
Every game is free for every family until 20 November 2026. No card, no payment.
What it practises
- Notice a repeating group in a picture sequence
- Choose the next item in a repeating pattern
How the levels grow
- Seed Level 1
- Sprout Level 2
- Bloom Level 3
- Flourish Level 4
- Shine Level 5
Ages 2–4 start with alternating patterns, such as A–B–A–B. Level 2 adds paired repeats, A–A–B–B. From level 3, three-item repeats, A–B–C, are also available. Ages 4–6 begin with alternating and paired repeats, add three-item repeats at level 2, then use paired and three-item repeats from level 3. Levels 4–5 reuse the level 3 pattern types for both bands. Each round offers three next-item choices, and a session has five rounds.
Ages 2–4 play on the Pre-Nursery path and ages 4–6 on the Kindergarten path. Good play climbs a level; a hard day holds it, and a level earned is never taken away.
What you might notice
- Can your child say the whole repeating group?
- Do they check earlier items before choosing the next one?
Try it at home
Draw circle, square, circle, square on one sheet. Say the pattern together and invite your child to point to what you should draw next. Then let them choose two marks for a new pattern that you continue with their help.
Not in this game: The game does not practise growing number patterns or inventing a pattern on screen.
