Odd One Out

A row of pictures contains a group and one extra picture drawn from another category. Your child taps the one the game treats as different. You can name the pictures together and discuss a reason for the choice, including another grouping your child notices while looking.

How the levels grow

Ages 2–4 see three pictures at levels 1–2, four at levels 3–4 and five at level 5. Ages 4–6 see four, five, six, six and seven across the five levels. Every round draws most pictures from one bank category and one from another. The categories include fruit, vehicles, clothes and balls. The main group must have enough different pictures for the level's set size. All levels contain five rounds.

Ages 2–4 play on the Pre-Nursery path and ages 4–6 on the Kindergarten path. Good play climbs a level; a hard day holds it, and a level earned is never taken away.

Do they notice another possible way to group the pictures?

Try it at home

Draw three spoons and one cup on paper. Ask what belongs together and why. Accept a different grouping if your child can explain it, then discuss your own idea. For younger children, name each drawing and point together without requiring a spoken reason.
