Shape City

Shape City practises noticing what a picture looks like and where it belongs. Shapes & Colors uses colour clues for younger players and colour with shape for older players. In Shape Builder, your child places pieces into outlines using a model. Position Quest asks where an object sits around familiar furniture. Shape Detective offers older children clues about sides, corners and familiar solids.

Where to start

For ages 2–4, try Shapes & Colors for colour choices, then Shape Builder for matching pieces to outlines. For ages 4–6, start with Shape Builder, then Shape Detective for shape clues and side counting. Position Quest is available to both bands and begins with on and under.

Every game starts at Seed, level 1, and climbs to Shine. Good play climbs a level; a hard day holds it, and a level earned is never taken away.

Try it at home

Draw a pretend house with a square body and triangular roof. Draw those shapes separately beside it and ask which part goes where. Your child can point while you trace the outlines with a finger. Add a drawn window together if they want another turn.

Not in these games: These games do not practise measuring angles or following left and right map directions.
