Shape Detective
A spoken clue describes a shape or asks about its straight sides. Your child chooses a pictured shape or a number. Later rounds include familiar objects representing solids, such as a ball for a sphere. The type of answer changes, so listen to the whole question together.
Every game is free for every family until 20 November 2026. No card, no payment.
What it practises
- Identify flat shapes from spoken property clues
- Count straight sides on pictured shapes
- Recognise examples of familiar three-dimensional solids
How the levels grow
- Seed Level 1
- Sprout Level 2
- Bloom Level 3
- Flourish Level 4
- Shine Level 5
For ages 4–6, levels 1–2 mix flat-shape clues with side-counting questions. Shape-clue rounds offer three options. From level 3, those rounds offer four options and alternate with solid examples, starting with sphere and cube. Level 4 makes cone and cylinder available too. Level 5 adds a five-pointed star clue to the flat-shape pool. All levels have five rounds. Solid choices and side-count answers remain sets of three, even when flat-shape choices expand.
This game is on the Kindergarten path, for ages 4–6. Good play climbs a level; a hard day holds it, and a level earned is never taken away.
What you might notice
- Does your child trace the sides with a pointing finger?
- Do they listen for a flat shape or a solid?
Try it at home
Draw a large triangle and square on scrap paper. Point along each straight side once and count together. Invite your child to describe a clue for one drawing while you guess. They can point instead of giving the shape's name.
Not in this game: The game does not practise measuring angles or describing every property of solids.
