Do: Contents page hunt. Look at the contents page. Pick a topic, find its page number, and turn to it. Read one fact together.

Do: Read it as the receiver. Read the letter together as if receiving it. Can the reader tell what happened and which question to answer? Add a missing detail if useful. Help your child share it with the intended person. Explain that a reply may take time.

Do: Welcome a different choice. Pretend a visitor wants to watch a game instead of joining. Ask how they might feel and what welcome could respect their choice. Try a short exchange: "You can sit with us or watch nearby." Plan one quiet option for your invented gathering.

Do: Return with help. When your child wants to return, use the marker to find the next part. Finish together, reduce the job or leave it for another day. Discuss whether the marker helped. Keep the aim on finding a next step, not working for longer.
