Do: Make a sign. Make a sign for the bedroom door ('Knock please!') or the kitchen ('Wash your hands'). Use a picture and a few words.

Do: Check the common words. Read the invitation together. Choose one common word your child used, such as the or you. Help them check its spelling. Then let the intended reader find the activity, place and time. Add a missing detail only if needed.

Do: Fair share. Share the objects equally between the plates, one at a time: one for you, one for you… How many on each plate? Is it fair?

Do: Places and people. Draw two nearby places your child knows, such as a shop and a clinic. Ask what people do there and who helps. Talk about a helper's work without assuming their gender. You can add a place your family visits further away.

Thinking & feelings
Do: Tell what changed. Draw before and after pictures of your pretend mishap. Your child describes what happened, who was affected and the repair they offered. Explain that someone may still feel upset after a repair. Choose where to place the cups safely next time.

Moving & making
Do: Direct two sounds together. Point to one sign to invite its musician to play. Show both signs to combine two gentle sounds while you speak a helper's line. Lower a sign to stop that part. Swap director and performer. Discuss whether quieter playing helped the words remain clear.
