Reading & talking
Do: Your turn to ask. Let your child lead a short pretend visit. Pause so they can ask for a prop, offer you something or show what should happen. Respond with a short phrase, such as 'A cup for me, thank you.' Finish when they lose interest.

Do: Something for you. Invite your child to make a crayon message for someone at home. Ask what they want it to mean without requiring an answer. Help them hand over the whole sheet. The reader can notice a mark and thank them.
You need: Big paper and chunky crayons

Numbers & shapes
Do: Under the cloth. Hide the rolled towel under the hand towel while your child watches. Ask where it is and lift the cloth together. Compare under the cloth with on the cloth. Keep cloths away from faces.
You need: The rolled towel and a light hand towel

Science & our world
Do: Find the familiar pair. Put the four drawings face up. Help your child find two that show the same thing. Name a home space where you use each object. If they want another turn, cover one picture with your hand, then reveal it together; there is no memory test to pass.
You need: Two large drawings of a cup and two of a book

Do: What comes with me? Start with spoon, sock, spoon. Offer the remaining sock and another large spoon and ask what could come next. If your child is unsure, point along the row and name it together. Stop after a few playful turns.

Moving & making
Do: Point to a colour outside. Sit or stand together outside. Point to a colour in your picture. Invite your child to find that colour nearby using an arm gesture or a few steps beside you. Look without collecting anything. Swap who chooses the colour; return indoors whenever you wish.
You need: Your picture and a safe outdoor space
