Do: Letter hunt. Find and circle the first letter of their name on a page of headlines. How many did you find? Count them.

You need: An old newspaper or magazine, a crayon

Do: Talk about a familiar snack. During their normal seated, supervised snack, offer words for tastes they already know, such as sweet or sour. There is no need for new foods, blindfolds or separate tastes of salt and sugar. Accept a description, a gesture or no tasting.
