Do: Real or silly? Read words like boat, joat, feet, keet, rain, bain. Sort them. It proves your child is reading, not guessing.

Do: Heartbeat test. Put a hand on your chest. Feel your heartbeat. Jump for a minute and feel again. What changed?

Do: Secret helper. Each day your child secretly does one kind thing for someone in the family. At dinner, everyone guesses who helped them.

Do: Sounds for the scene. Choose a quiet rhythm for the search and a different sound for finding the cup. Act the scene together with the sounds in the chosen places. Swap roles. Ask whether a sound should be softer, slower or left out to tell the story clearly.
