Do: Story starters. Start with 'One day, a little cat…' Your child adds the next sentence out loud, then you, then them. Write down the best part together.

Do: Shop sums. Buy two toys: how much altogether? You have 15: after buying a 6, how much is left?

Science & our world
Do: Home-made drum. Tap the container gently with your fingertips. Try a quieter tap, then a slightly louder one at a comfortable listening level. Keep it away from ears and stop if the sound is uncomfortable.

Do: Secret helper. Each day your child secretly does one kind thing for someone in the family. At dinner, everyone guesses who helped them.

Moving & making
Do: Echo my rhythm. Tap the bowl softly with your hands: tap, tap, pause. Invite your child to copy. Let them lead a pattern for you to echo. Keep to a few sounds so the pattern can be remembered without rushing.
You need: Your hands and an unbreakable empty bowl with a smooth rim
Talk: Where is the quiet gap in your rhythm?
