Our week: KG 2, week 6
Dates: to · Try one activity on a day that suits you. Repeat or pause any part.
Reading & talking
Do: Real or silly? Read words like boat, joat, feet, keet, rain, bain. Sort them. It proves your child is reading, not guessing.
You need: Word cards, two boxes marked 'real' and 'silly'
Talk: What other words rhyme with 'moon'?
We noticed:

Science & our world
Do: Shadow puppets. An adult holds a torch towards a wall in a dim room with a clear floor. Make hand shadows together without pointing the torch into eyes. Move the hand nearer the torch and then nearer the wall to compare the shadow.
You need: A torch, a wall, your hands
Talk: Where does light come from at night?
We noticed:
Game (optional): Five Senses
Thinking & feelings
Do: Team tower. Two people build one tower, taking turns. Talk about who places what. Could you build it higher together than alone?
You need: Blocks or paper cups
Talk: How can we make this fair for both of you?
We noticed:
Game (optional): Feelings Friends
Moving & making
Do: A roof or a mat. Use the weave as a pretend picnic mat, or lay it across a small box as a roof. If it slips apart, help move the strips back and decide where you need to hold them. Describe the shapes and pattern. It is a model, not something to sit or stand on.
You need: The woven paper and a small checked cardboard box
Talk: Where could you hold the pieces to keep them together?
We noticed:
Game (optional): Pattern Parade
A possible rhythm: one or two strands a day, on the days that suit you. Swap days freely. Games are optional and never replace the home activity.
