Reading & talking
Do: Sticky-note hide and seek. Write each tricky word on a note and hide them around a room. Your child reads each one as they find it.

Do: Read and choose. Read the two lines aloud, pointing as you go. Ask whether your child wants to swap a word, perhaps bright for blue. Make their chosen change together. Add a drawing and share the poem with someone at home if they wish.

Numbers & shapes
Do: Tallest tower. On the floor, make a low tower with the boxes and cups. Try flat surfaces together and notice what stays steady. Compare with a ball placed beside the tower. Keep the stack below your child's shoulder height.
You need: Small empty cardboard boxes and unbreakable cups

Science & our world
Do: A materials page. Draw two objects and add a material name and one describing word to each, writing for your child as needed. Look at the objects again another day and check the descriptions. Ask whether a new word would make either description clearer.

Do: Was that useful? Draw together. Ask what help your child wants with one part, then offer it. Check whether that helped or whether they want something different. Let them say, "Together, please," or point. Thank them for showing you what they needed.

Moving & making
Do: Help the visitor feel welcome. Pretend the visitor feels worried about waiting. Ask what might help, such as explaining whose turn comes next or letting a carer stay beside them. Use your gentle cue to invite the toy forward. Swap roles and let your child show another possible feeling.
You need: The toy, role signs and sound makers

A possible rhythm: one or two strands a day, on the days that suit you. Swap days freely. Games are optional and never replace the home activity.
