Do: Plan for this reader. Choose a willing relative or familiar person. Say one piece of news they may enjoy and one question you would like to ask. Write the greeting together, including the reader's name. Let your child choose a warm opening.

Science & our world
Do: What makes a day special? Recall a visit or another day your family chose to mark, or invent one. Draw something people did together. Ask what made it meaningful. Your child may describe food, a conversation or quiet time; do not assume every special day includes a party.

Thinking & feelings
Do: Return with help. When your child wants to return, use the marker to find the next part. Finish together, reduce the job or leave it for another day. Discuss whether the marker helped. Keep the aim on finding a next step, not working for longer.

Moving & making
Do: A pattern across the panels. Open the sheet flat. Across the panels, draw circle, circle, line, line, then repeat if space allows. Say the whole repeating group and predict what comes next. Refold the screen. Let your child choose a pretend place for it and explain the pattern.
