Reading & talking
Do: Open the word. Write moon and book on folded paper, with only oo showing. Open each fold and read the whole word together. Listen to your usual pronunciation. Explain that seeing oo alone does not always tell us how the whole word sounds.

Do: What shall we ask? Ask your child what they would like to know about Ammi's favourite game or Leo's favourite fruit. Choose one short question together. Say it aloud, then write it, sharing unfamiliar words. Add a question mark at the end.

Game (optional): Sight Words
Numbers & shapes
Do: Paper paths. Draw three straight paths. Place equal-sized squares along each with touching edges and no overlaps. Count the squares, then order the paths by length. Use paths that fit a whole number of squares.
You need: Paper, a pencil and equal-sized large paper squares prepared by an adult
Talk: Which is longer: 6 blocks or 9 blocks?

Science & our world
Do: A shared space. Draw a pretend park with a wrapper on the path and a plant beside it. Discuss what might help. Explain that an adult handles unknown rubbish, sharp items and dirty waste. Choose a safe job at home, such as putting your own clean scrap paper in its agreed place.

Thinking & feelings
Do: Choose two comforts. Offer sitting quietly together, stretching hands gently or taking a few comfortable breaths. Try only what your child chooses. Draw two options on a small plan, including asking you for company. Let your child point instead of speaking.

Game (optional): Feelings Friends
Moving & making
Do: Sound and service together. One person makes the opening sound while the other welcomes a customer. Practise asking for two drawn mangoes, finding them and packing them into a box. Give a spoken warning before the closing sound. Switch musician and shopkeeper roles so each person coordinates with the other's cue.
