One Bounce to My Partner
Goal: Coordinate a gentle bounce pass with a ready partner and describe where the ball travels.
Do together
-
Bounce beside me
You need: A large soft ball, or a whole sockFrom a steady seated or standing position, gently bounce the ball beside you and catch it with both hands. An adult can help. If bouncing is difficult, roll it beside you instead. Name its position and keep the movement slow.
-
Ready for one bounce
You need: The ball or sock and a clear spaceFace each other close enough for a gentle pass. Wait for ready hands, then bounce the ball once on the floor between you towards your partner. Let them gather it against their body. Use a roll instead if preferred. Swap sender and receiver.
-
Choose a useful distance
You need: The same clear space and ball or sockDiscuss whether the ball bounced between you or beside your partner. Move closer, or try a gentler send, changing one thing at a time. Try again only when both are ready. Describe which position made the pass easier; no score is needed.
Talk about it
- Where did the ball bounce?
- How will I know you are ready?
- Would moving closer help our next pass?
