Reading & talking
Do: Robot talk. Talk like a robot: 'Get your h-a-t.' 'Sit on the m-a-t.' Your child works out the word. Then let them be the robot.

Writing & pencil control
Do: Tell me about your drawing. Invite your child to draw a favourite moment, such as Ali on a mat. Ask what they want the picture to say. Write their short caption as they watch. They can add a word or a letter they know. Read it back together, pointing to the words.

Numbers & shapes
Do: Two groups to add. Put between one and five spoons on each plate. Count each group, then count how many there are altogether. Keep the total at ten or fewer. When ready, help your child start with one group's number and count on through the other group.
You need: Up to ten large spoons and two unbreakable plates
Talk: If I take 2 away, how many are left?

Do: Plant diary. Draw the seed each day or two. Write the day and how tall it is.
You need: A few sheets of paper stapled together
Talk: Which part grew first, the root or the shoot?

Thinking & feelings
Do: A page of kind moments. Draw or describe one kind thing someone did today. Ask how it may have felt to give or receive that help. Let your child add a mark or picture. Keep it as a shared memory, without counting kind acts for a prize.

Moving & making
Do: Our tiny show. Place the pictures where you can both see them. Act out the movements in order and use your beat for the journey. Swap storyteller and mover roles. Ask which part your child wants to repeat; an audience is optional.
