1. Seeds in a jar

   You need: A clear jar, damp cotton wool or tissue, chickpeas or moong

   Push seeds between the cotton and the glass so you can see them. Keep damp. Check every morning: roots first, then a shoot.

2. Plant diary

   You need: A few sheets of paper stapled together

   Draw the seed each day or two. Write the day and how tall it is.

3. Leaf rubbing walk

   You need: Paper, crayons with the paper peeled off

   Collect leaves outside. Put paper over a leaf and rub with the side of a crayon. Compare the shapes.
