Reading & talking
Do: Make a sign. Make a sign for the bedroom door ('Knock please!') or the kitchen ('Wash your hands'). Use a picture and a few words.

Do: Show me the steps. Ask your child to show you how to put socks away. Agree three steps, such as find a pair, fold it and put it in the box. Draw a picture for each step and put them in order.

Numbers & shapes
Do: Find the missing part. Write 6 = 4 + a blank box. Ask how many would make the two sides equal. Let your child draw dots or use fingers. Try a blank on the left, such as a box + 3 = 7, and check the whole statement together.

Do: Animal movements. Sort animals by how they move: walk, fly, swim, hop, wriggle, slither. Some go in two groups!

Thinking & feelings
Do: Choose your reminder. Together plan a pretend picnic with a mat, mango and water. Your child chooses a spoken link or quick drawing to remember them. Later, recall the three things together and check. Ask what helped and what they would choose next time.

Moving & making
Do: Choose our two places. Choose two everyday places, such as a kitchen and a bus stop. Draw a simple sign for each. Decide who works or waits there and invent one helpful exchange, such as a cook offering a meal or a passenger asking the destination. Practise the voices while seated.
