🏠 Do together

1. Choose our two places

   You need: Paper and crayons

   Choose two everyday places, such as a kitchen and a bus stop. Draw a simple sign for each. Decide who works or waits there and invent one helpful exchange, such as a cook offering a meal or a passenger asking the destination. Practise the voices while seated.

2. Make a sound palette

   You need: A cloth, stiff paper, a large spoon and an unbreakable cup

   A sound palette is the set of sounds you choose from. Rub the cloth, flex the paper and tap the cup gently with the spoon. Pick contrasting sounds for your two places. Can your partner say what changed: the material, the action or both?

3. Direct two sounds together

   You need: The place signs and sound makers

   Point to one sign to invite its musician to play. Show both signs to combine two gentle sounds while you speak a helper's line. Lower a sign to stop that part. Swap director and performer. Discuss whether quieter playing helped the words remain clear.
