Do: Sign spotting. Read every sign you can: Push, Pull, Exit, Open, Closed, Stop, Toilets. What does each sign tell people to do?
You need: A walk, a trip to the shop or a hospital waiting room

Writing & pencil control
Do: A useful message. Help your child say a short message using a practised word, such as 'The bag is here.' Write it together, supplying unfamiliar words. Let them check the chosen word against its model and read the message to someone at home.
You need: Paper and a pencil

Numbers & shapes
Do: Two ways, one total. Put three spoons on each sheet. Write 3 = 3 between the groups. On one sheet, separate the three into two and one. Explain that 3 = 2 + 1 is still true because both sides show three. Count to check.
You need: Six large spoons, two sheets of paper and a pencil

Science & our world
Do: Shiny surface picture. With an adult, look at reflections in each side of the spoon and compare them with the dull paper. Keep the spoon away from eyes and do not reflect sunlight into anyone's face. Draw something you noticed.
You need: An intact shiny spoon and paper

Thinking & feelings
Do: Choose your reminder. Together plan a pretend picnic with a mat, mango and water. Your child chooses a spoken link or quick drawing to remember them. Later, recall the three things together and check. Ask what helped and what they would choose next time.

Moving & making
Do: Guess our outdoor shape. One partner describes a shape without naming it, such as 'four equal straight sides'. The other traces it in the air with an arm or points out its imagined corners. Give another clue if several answers fit. Swap roles, using shapes from your shared picture. Seated gestures are welcome.
You need: A safe outdoor space
