Plants and Animals
Goal: Sort living and non-living things, tell plants from animals, and grow and care for plants.
For parents: Children often think things that move (clouds, cars) are alive and plants aren't. Living things grow, need food and water, and have young.

Is it alive?
You need: A walk outside, a notebookMake two lists: living and not living. A tree, a stone, a cat, a car, a flower, a cloud. Talk about the hard ones.

Box garden
You need: An old box or tray lined with plastic, soil, seeds (coriander, mustard, beans)Plant seeds, label them, water them. Measure the tallest plant every few days and record it.

Plants we eat
You need: Vegetables and fruit from the kitchenWhich part of the plant is it? Carrot — root, spinach — leaf, potato — underground stem, apple — fruit, peas — seeds.
