Reading & talking
Do: Build it. Call a word (shop, much, thin, king) and your child builds it. Did they use the two-letter card?
You need: Letter cards, with sh, ch, th and ng written as single cards
Talk: Which words end with 'ng'?

Do: Shopping list. Before going to the shop, your child writes the list. Use it in the shop and tick off each item.
You need: A notepad

Do: Finger flash. Show some fingers. Your child shows how many more make ten, as fast as they can.

Science & our world
Do: Sink or float. Stay within reach throughout. Guess what will happen, then lower each item into the water and observe. Try the cup upright and on its side; whether water enters can change the result. Keep items out of mouths, wipe spills and empty the bowl afterwards.
You need: A shallow bowl, a little water, a large metal spoon and an unbreakable cup
