Do: Notice the tricky part. Write the and said. Read them aloud. In said, notice the familiar s and d and point out that ai represents the sound heard in bed. Mark the part to remember in a different colour. Choose just one word if that is enough.

Do: Bundle sums. Show 23 and 14 with bundles. Put the tens together and the ones together. How many altogether?

Print a Cooperative Picture
Week 1 of about 3

Do: Plan who makes each part. Choose a shared picture, such as a garden gate. Decide which parts could use rings from the cup rim and broad rectangles from the folded cloth. Sketch a plan and agree one part for each person. Explain how the shapes will fit together.

You need: Paper, a large unbreakable cup, a whole folded cloth and crayons
